GenLayer x Denarii Labs
Build the agentic economy

A 12-week accelerator for startups building on GenLayer — the adjudication layer for the agentic economy. As AI agents begin transacting at machine speed, they need machine-speed dispute resolution. We’re funding the teams building it.

Program Overview

Machine-speed money needs machine-speed adjudication

The agentic commerce stack is being built right now, in public, by serious people. Coinbase’s x402 handles payments. Ethereum’s ERC-8004 handles agent identity and reputation. The Linux Foundation’s A2A handles agent-to-agent task exchange.

Every standard in the stack is engineered for the moment everything goes right. None of them handle the moment something goes wrong.

The next economy will not fail because software cannot move money. It will fail because software cannot safely disagree.

That missing function is adjudication — a credible mechanism for evaluating contested commitments, weighing evidence, interpreting language, and reaching judgment. GenLayer is the protocol where that resolution happens.

That’s why GenLayer and Denarii Labs are partnering on this accelerator. Together, we’re funding and accelerating the founders building the first generation of applications that need this missing layer — from performance-based bounties and prediction markets today, to the full agentic commerce stack tomorrow.

Why GenLayer

Consensus on judgment, not just code

Where Bitcoin reached consensus on the order of transactions, and Ethereum reached consensus on the execution of code, GenLayer reaches consensus on the meaning and interpretation of transactions.

Intelligent Contracts

Python-based smart contracts with native access to LLMs, live web data, and non-deterministic operations.

Optimistic Democracy

Delegated PoS consensus where randomly selected validators running diverse LLMs reach majority agreement, with appeals and escalation.

The Equivalence Principle

The technical primitive that lets two answers be different in form and yet equivalent in meaning. Consensus on non-deterministic outputs.

Justice in Minutes

The U.S. legal system averages 344 days for complex civil disputes. GenLayer resolves in minutes, at internet scale, for anyone in the world.

Native Web Access

Contracts fetch live data from websites, APIs, and public sources directly on-chain. No oracles, no intermediaries.

EVM Compatible

Operates as a zkSync Elastic Chain L2, composable with existing Ethereum DeFi and infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

Two wedges. Proof, then structure.

GenLayer's go-to-market runs on two sequenced wedges: where the protocol proves itself on adjudication demand that exists today, and where it becomes structural infrastructure for the agentic economy arriving tomorrow.

Wedge 1 — The Proof Wedge

Performance & milestone adjudication

Money is already onchain. Commitments are already written down. Disputes already happen — and today they’re resolved by human bottlenecks that don’t scale.

Bounties & Work Verification

Platforms where payout depends on AI-evaluated deliverable quality — was the code good enough? Did the article meet the brief?

BountiesCode ReviewQuality Eval

Grant Milestone Adjudication

Tranche releases on contested deliverables. Retroactive funding rounds where allocation turns on impact and judgment.

GrantsRetroPGFMilestones

Prediction & Information Markets

Markets where subjective outcomes need neutral resolution. No centralized oracle dependency, no human bottleneck.

Prediction MarketsArgumentation

Creator & Contributor Rewards

Creator economies where AI-scored rewards generate disputes. Contributor performance tied to vesting or compensation.

Wedge 2 — The Structural Wedge

Adjudication inside the agentic stack

Building the infrastructure that plugs directly into x402, ERC-8004, and A2A — handling the moment of disagreement those standards defer.

Agent-to-Agent Dispute Resolution

Disputes over agent-executed jobs. Escrow release tied to ambiguous completion. SLAs written against the output quality of agent work.

AI AgentsERC-8004SLAs

Parametric Insurance & Claims

Contracts that fetch weather data, flight statuses, or photographic evidence to assess claims and trigger payouts in minutes, not weeks.

ParametricClaimsInsurtech

Reputation & Identity Verification

Reputation claims contested between counterparties. Identity attestations that require interpreting evidence, not just signing it.

ReputationIdentity

DAO Governance & Compliance

Natural-language rules enforced on-chain. Does a proposal comply with the charter? Does a transaction satisfy regulatory requirements?

Who Should Apply

Founders building at the intersection of AI reasoning and blockchain trust

AI + Crypto Fluency

You can articulate why your application requires both AI judgment and blockchain settlement. Bonus if you understand the Equivalence Principle.

Python Proficiency

Comfortable with Python-first development. GenLayer Intelligent Contracts are written in Python, not Solidity.

Problem-First Thinking

Strong evidence of a real user problem that specifically requires subjective on-chain judgment. No “blockchain for blockchain’s sake.”

Builder Velocity

Demonstrated ability to ship quickly. Bonus if you’ve already deployed something on GenLayer Studio or testnet.

Ecosystem Mindset

Willingness to contribute open-source Intelligent Contract examples, developer content, and community engagement.

Web3 Track Record

Prior experience shipping in crypto. Understanding of tokenomics, staking, and decentralized governance.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A clear answer to “why can’t this be built on Ethereum or Solana today?” If your product requires subjective AI judgment executed trustlessly on-chain, you’re in the right place. Reject deterministic-only logic that could work entirely with if/then rules.

No. We welcome teams exploring GenLayer as well as those already building with Intelligent Contracts. Our mentors can help you evaluate fit and get started with GenLayer Studio.

Python proficiency is strongly recommended since GenLayer Intelligent Contracts are written in Python. Teams that only know Solidity and plan to “learn Python later” will slow down significantly.

Pre-seed to seed. We’re looking for teams with a clear technical architecture and evidence of a real user problem. Some verticals like insurance benefit from slightly later-stage teams with some traction.

Both are valid. Wedge 1 (performance/milestone adjudication) has acute pain and sophisticated buyers today — easier to demonstrate traction. Wedge 2 (the agentic commerce stack) is structural infrastructure for the volume that’s arriving. We accept teams in either, and Wedge 1 case studies often unlock Wedge 2 deployments.

The program is fully remote and runs 12 weeks. Expect 10–15 hours per week for mentor sessions, workshops, cohort calls, and independent work.

Tokenomics design, go-to-market strategy, legal guidance, technical mentorship, community building support, and access to our 500+ investor network through Red Beard Ventures for follow-on funding.
